“It is a way to galvanize the Youths this Season to at least boost their activities. Aniocha North is a well diversified Local Government area. We have about seventeen communities that are quite independent on their own, but somehow, even despite our heterogeneous nature, we are also still very homogeneous in the sense that we move from one community to the other without even noticing any boundaries. We bond together.

“So this football tournament will help to bring us together once more, even though it is going to be competitive. It is going to be all fun. It is geared towards promoting brotherliness and unity among the various communities.

“The competition is also going to serve as an opportunity to fish out talents especially in football. You know football globally is a big business.

“If from the competition, one or two persons are fished out and they go professional, that will be a very good one. Above all, it will encourage us to know ourselves as members of the same Local Government area, it will give us all the fun especially to commemorate this precious season”, Hon. Oseme stated.

Even when he declined politely to disclose the cost implication of organizing such a complex football competition, Hon. Chuks Oseme revealed that his foundation will be providing complete football kits which include sets of Jerseys for all the participating communities, through their community Football Clubs, free of charge.

The Former Council Chairman noted that indeed, organizing such a football event is capital intensive, but for him, the tournament is being done basically on humanitarian grounds, saying that it is all geared towards mobilizing the people of Aniocha North for the Unity and progress of the Local Government area.

While confirming that very important dignitaries within and outside the Local Government area have been invited for the Sporting event, the Founder of Avatar Foundation, Hon. Chuks Oseme revealed that the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Kevin Okwechime will officially kick-off the Football competition, billed to commence by 4pm on Friday this week.
