COVID-19: LEO NKEAKA DISTRIBUTE FOOD ITEMS TO IBUSA RESIDENTS

Following the lockdown in Delta State since April 1st, 2020, the people have been faced with hardship especially those who means of livelihood depends on daily labour.

However, the Delta State Government has sustained efforts to contain the spread of the deadly Corona Virus Disease in the state, by extending the lockdown by two weeks.

In a bid to cushion the effect of the lockdown on residents in Ibusa, especially the less privilege, Hon. Leo Nkeaka (Ohamadike), the Supervisory councillor on health and environment in Oshimili North LGA has today, commenced the distribution of food items, cash and sanitizers to residents in Ibusa.

The gesture which is aimed at the most vulnerable within the town, according to him, is to cushion the hardship occasioned by the stay-at-home directive by the state government.

Hon. Leo Nkeaka, said that the gesture is aimed to encourage the people in this critical time.

He stressed that the palliative was to support the downtrodden and lesspriviledged in the society.

However, he added that the palliative may not be enough to sustain the people throughout the hardship, but he believes it will help them at this trying time.

He tasked them to observe all precautionary measures including the social distancing and stay-at-home to be safe, as directed by Delta State Government.
