The former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has congratulated Nigerians, particularly the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message marking the anniversary, Elumelu paid tribute to the founding fathers of the Nigerian nation, acknowledging their sacrifices, courage and vision in laying the foundation for an independent Nigeria.
He also commended Nigerians for their resilience, hard work and determination to keep the nation moving despite the challenges encountered over the years.
He noted that the strength of Nigeria lies in the capacity of its people to persevere and remain committed to the bond of unity and peaceful co-existence
Elumelu said Nigeria’s 66 years of nationhood should not only be a moment of celebration, but also an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the nation’s journey, appreciate the progress made and renew their collective commitment to building a united and prosperous country.
He expressed optimism that Nigeria possesses the human and material resources required to achieve greater development, urging all citizens not to lose faith in the Nigerian project.
The former federal lawmaker appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the efforts of his administration through the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the initiatives and reforms of the Federal Government are designed towards strengthening the country and creating greater opportunities for Nigerians.
He stressed that the success of any government depends substantially on the cooperation and support of the people, urging Nigerians to continue to contribute their quota to national development while remaining hopeful of a better tomorrow.
Elumelu also commended the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for what he described as his demonstrated love for the people of Delta State and his efforts in strengthening government interventions to the grassroots.
He particularly appreciated the Governor’s empowerment initiative being implemented through Local Government Council Chairmen, their Vice Chairmen and Councillors across the 25 Local Government Areas of the State, describing the approach as an important means of taking economic support closer to ordinary citizens.
The APC candidate said the resilience, support and confidence of the people of Aniocha/Oshimili remained a source of encouragement to him, expressing appreciation for their continued solidarity and resolve.
He assured the people of the Federal Constituency that, when elected in the forthcoming 2027 general election to return to the House of Representatives, the development of Aniocha/Oshimili and the improvement of the welfare and economic opportunities of its people would remain at the heart of his legislative agenda.
Elumelu said he looked forward to a future in which more communities across Aniocha/Oshimili would experience meaningful development and more constituents would have access to opportunities capable of improving their livelihoods.
He urged the people to continue to believe in themselves, support initiatives that promote development and remain committed to peace, unity and progress in their communities.
