Heirs Energies, the energy investment company owned by Nigerian businessman, Tony Elumelu, has acquired an additional one per cent stake in Seplat Energy Plc for about $70 million (approximately N94 billion).
The latest acquisition increases the total shareholding of Heirs Holdings Group in the energy company to 21.07 per cent.
The development further strengthens Elumelu’s position in Seplat Energy, where he is scheduled to assume the position of Chairman of the Board on January 1, 2027.
Following the latest investment, the value of Elumelu’s stake in Seplat Energy is estimated at approximately $1.5 billion.
The acquisition underscores the continued expansion of Elumelu’s interests in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector through his energy-focused investments.
