Okowa Commissions Delta State Civil Service Commission Office Complex, Says His Administration Provided Conducive Working Place for Civil Servants 

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 commissioned the newly completed ultra-modern State Civil Service Commission constructed by his administration.

Commissioning the project, Governor Okowa said his administration has provided a conducive working environment for civil servants in the State by way of building a mega ultra-modern state secretariat and building of a befitting place for the Civil Service Commission.

Okowa commended the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Chief Nkem Okwuofu for her steadfastness in the running of the Commission.

While appreciating the complex, Governor Okowa commended the contractor for a work well done and for completing the project in less than six months.

Giving a brief on the project, the State Commissioner for Housing, Chief Festus Ochonogo said that the project comprise of office for the Commission Chairman, offices for the four  members of the Commission, the permanent secretary, saying that departments, units and Staff has been provided for in the fully furnished complex.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Commission, Chief Nkem Okwuofu had appreciated the State Governor for giving his approval for the building of a separate office complex for the Commission because of the sensitive nature of their assignment.

“He gave us the land, the resources, the support and all the encouragement needed,” Okwuofu said.

She revealed that the Commission in consonance with the governor’s approval got a reputable contractor that handled and completed the project in line with contractual agreement within a period of five months.

“We are happy that you are here today to share the joy with us and to say thank you to the Governor for leaving an endearing legacy for civil servants in Delta State,” the Commission Chairman said.
