Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged the Atiku Care Foundation to brace up and expand its humanitarian support to vulnerable Nigerians in views of envisaged impacts of new economic realities with Nigeria sliding into another recession.
The charge was at the high-powered meeting with delegation of the ACF with the Waziri Adamawa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The former Nigerian VP reminded his guests at his Dubai home that a time like this comes with expectations for the Atiku Care Foundation to redouble its efforts in assisting the vulnerable segment of the society in order to scale through the harsh economic period.
“We cannot be weary at a time like this. After the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, our nation is now officially into a very bad economic recession and we cannot leave the people unattended.
“I don’t need to remind you as a humanitarian organisation that your support to the weak, the poor and vulnerable citizens will be of greater need to the people to mitigate the impacts of the pains,” the former Vice President noted.
He charged the organisation to relate with kind-hearted Nigerians to support the weak while restating the call on government at all levels on the imperatives of cutting down on the costs of running government and blocking wastage.
In addition, the Waziri Adamawa encouraged the organisation to revitalise its structure for greater delivery and impacts across the country.
The delegation which is led by the Director-General of the Foundation, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas commended the Grand Patron for his tireless inspiration and guidance; pledging that the ACF will not derail from sustaining the philanthropic interventions of Alh. Atiku Abubakar by touching lives.
Other members of the delegation include the National Director Media and Publicity, Mr. Godspower Oshodin, Mr. Collins Jude Onyeaji and Ikechukwu Nnamdi Anyaegbudike.
