The Minority Leader of the 9th House of Representatives and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general election, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has called on non-indigenes resident in Delta State to throw their weight behind his bid to return to the National Assembly, the re-election of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and other candidates of the APC in the forthcoming polls.
Elumelu made the appeal in Asaba at the unveiling of the Ijele Ndigbo Support Group, where he described the non-indigenous community as a strategic electoral constituency whose support would be pivotal to the APC’s success in the 2027 general election.
He commended Governor Oborevwori for running an inclusive administration that has embraced non-indigenes through appointments, empowerment programmes and the equitable spread of developmental projects across the state.

According to him, the Governor’s openness to constructive ideas and contributions from residents, irrespective of their ethnic background, has strengthened governance and accelerated development in Delta State.
Elumelu stated that Governor Oborevwori had earned a second term in office through his impressive performance, noting that another tenure would enable him to consolidate on the remarkable achievements already recorded under his administration.
He stressed that the realization of that objective would depend largely on the collective support of all residents of the state, including the non-indigenous community.
Speaking on his aspiration to return to the House of Representatives, Elumelu said the time had come for him to resume the legislative representation of the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and continue the developmental initiatives he began during his previous tenure.
He recalled that as Chairman of the House Committee on Power, he facilitated the construction of the 132/33KV transmission substation in Asaba with a step-down facility in Nkalagu, Ebonyi State, the establishment of 10 electricity distribution substations across Oshimili South Local Government Area, as well as the construction of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) office in Asaba as a constituency project.
In the health sector, Elumelu highlighted his role in attracting major infrastructural upgrades to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba, particularly during the tenure of the immediate past Medical Director, Dr. Victor Osiatuma.
He also listed his security interventions, including the construction of 72 housing units for officers of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Asaba and the conversion of the agency’s old office complex into a functional clinic for personnel.
The APC House of Representatives candidate further pointed to his extensive empowerment initiatives, employment facilitation programmes and the installation of streetlights across communities in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency as evidence of his commitment to improving the lives of the people.
Describing non-indigenes, particularly those residing in Oshimili South Local Government Area, as an indispensable voting bloc, Elumelu urged them to support his candidacy, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori’s re-election bid as well as all APC candidates, assuring them that their confidence and support would be rewarded with more inclusive governance, quality representation and sustained development.
He reaffirmed his commitment to providing effective representation, attracting more federal projects and advancing the welfare of the people if returned to the National Assembly in 2027.
