APC Presidential Campaign to Begin in Kaduna October 24, Yari Declares

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council will on Saturday, October 24, 2026, formally commence its nationwide campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, with a flag-off rally in Kaduna State.

Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, who announced this in a press statement, said the Kaduna rally would mark the beginning of an extensive nationwide mobilisation campaign that would cover all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

Yari called on APC members, party leaders, campaign coordinators, support groups and young Nigerians to converge on Kaduna for the flag-off, urging them to mobilise their supporters and demonstrate the party’s readiness for the political contest ahead.

He said the campaign would sustain its momentum after the Kaduna event until the Council had visited every state and the FCT, stressing that the exercise would be driven by grassroots engagement and direct interaction with voters.

According to the APC campaign chief, the call for President Tinubu’s re-election is anchored on the need to consolidate the administration’s ongoing reforms and allow Nigerians to enjoy their anticipated long-term benefits.

“The President took tough decisions that many before him avoided, and Nigerians have carried part of that burden with him. We owe it to them to make sure the reforms are completed and they see the full benefit. That is why we are asking for four more years,” Yari stated.

He urged party faithful and supporters to attend the Kaduna rally in large numbers, noting that a strong turnout would demonstrate the APC’s organisational capacity and preparedness for the task ahead.

Yari also directed state chapters and support groups to commence mobilisation immediately and work closely with the Campaign Council’s secretariat to ensure effective coordination and a peaceful event.

He emphasised that the party’s path to victory would depend not only on major rallies but also on sustained engagement at the ward and polling-unit levels.

“We will achieve victory by working in every ward and polling unit, through people who knock on doors and explain to their neighbours why this government deserves more time. Kaduna is where that work begins for us,” he said.

The Director General called on party stakeholders to translate their support into practical grassroots action, stressing that direct voter engagement would be central to the campaign’s strategy.

Yari expressed optimism about the mobilisation exercise and invited party members and supporters to Kaduna for the October 24 flag-off, concluding his message with the assurance: “See you in Kaduna, insha Allah.”

The planned rally is expected to set the tone for the APC’s nationwide campaign to secure a second term for President Tinubu, with the Council positioning grassroots mobilisation, coordinated party participation and public engagement as key elements of its strategy.
