Delta Tourism Board Chairman Tina Amuziam Visits Asaba Film Village … Commends Okowa

The Chairman, Delta State Tourism Board, Princess Tina Amuziam, lead members of the Board on an on the spot assessment of the construction work on the Asaba Film Village being undertaken by the present administration in the State.

Princess Amuziam and members of the board were met on arrival at the site by the contractor who took them round every sector of the project while briefing them on the level of work done so far, even as he assured that the project would be delivered in the first quarter of 2021.

Speaking with newsmen during the visit, Princess Amuziam commended the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his resolve and determination to build a world class film village in Asaba, the Delta State capital and said that her visit to the tourist site was to familiarize with the project and make sure everything was in order

Amuziam said that the Governor has done well by way of providing the industry with a well-structured base that could compete with their international counterparts.

“The film village will benefit unemployed youths and even train them on film skills acquisition, I am satisfied with the world-class film village being built in Asaba, by which Nollywood could proudly declare Asaba as their home.

“I’m here in my capacity as the State Tourism Board Chairman with exceptional pedigree of over 25 years as both respected founding member and patron of the Nollywood film industry, already established critical relationship equity mandatory for global monetization of the film products. To make sure that all necessary fundamentals are in place and the film village is strategically structured.

“The film Village and Leisure Park is being built by our parent ministry, the Directorate of Culture and Tourism and to be marketed by Tourism Board, but you know, you can’t market what you do not know, that’s why we have to be part of the building of what we are marketing.

“For example, the Lagos state Tourism sector is already marketing the film city project that has not started at all. The mega city also in Lagos state was marketed even before they started sand filling the location.

“Also, we at the Tourism Board are already planning our marketing strategies. I have an already established relationship equity with an International digital monetization platform Blaze Channel USA.

“I have to do my marketing, so they will see what we are doing. So we have to make sure that all necessary fundamentals are in place and the village strategically structured.

“Delta state indigenous tourism products can also be integrated into the Nigerian-US Tourism/Business Expo planned for 2020 in New York City, USA in associations with Federal Government’s Diaspora Commission, but has been shifted till next year because of the pandemic,” Princess Amuziam stated.
