The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, has congratulated its immediate past Chairman, Mr. Victor Okpomor, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as an exceptional media leader whose contributions continue to shape the growth and unity of the chapel.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the chapel, Comrade Okakuro Akpokona Omafuaire, and the Secretary, Comrade Edeki Igafe, the union expressed gratitude to God for granting the former chairman another year of life, while praying for greater accomplishments, sound health and divine protection in the years ahead.
The chapel described Okpomor as a visionary, an astute journalism professional and a dependable pillar of the Fourth Estate, noting that his exemplary leadership laid a solid foundation that continues to inspire the chapel’s activities and professional ideals.
According to the statement, Okpomor’s tenure was marked by institutional reforms, strategic partnerships and an uncommon dedication to the welfare of members, achievements that significantly enhanced the reputation and influence of the Warri Correspondents’ Chapel within and beyond Delta State.
The journalists also praised the former chairman for his selfless sacrifices, commitment to strengthening journalism practice and efforts in promoting unity among media professionals.
They further noted that his administration fostered productive relationships with security agencies, key stakeholders and regional industry players, a development they said elevated the chapel’s institutional standing and reinforced its relevance in advancing responsible journalism.
Reflecting on the enduring bond within the media community, the chapel wished the celebrant many more years of good health, peace, fulfillment and impactful service to society.
“Your leadership style left an indelible blueprint for media unity and development. Your tenure fostered strong external partnerships with key stakeholders, security outfits and regional industry players, which ultimately elevated the chapel’s institutional pedigree,” the statement read.
The union prayed that God would continue to bless Okpomor with wisdom, favour and long life, expressing confidence that the years ahead would usher in greater joy, professional fulfillment and abundant divine grace.
