…Passes Vote of Confidence on President Tinubu, Oborevwori, Intensifies 2027 Grassroots Mobilisation
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta Mandate have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, while APC House of Representatives candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, called on party members to embrace unity, loyalty and reconciliation as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The vote of confidence, which commended the purposeful, inspiring and transformational leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, was adopted during a meeting of the political group held at the official residence of the member representing Isoko South Constituency II in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Ferguson Onwo, at the Legislative Quarters, Asaba.
The motion was moved by the Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, seconded by Hon. Onwo and unanimously adopted through a voice vote conducted by the National President of APC Delta Mandate, Hon. Isaac Anwuzia.
Addressing the gathering, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu urged APC members across Delta State to close ranks, forgive one another and work together to ensure overwhelming victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.
He stressed that internal unity remained indispensable to consolidating the achievements of both President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, insisting that only a united party could sustain the ongoing developmental strides at both the federal and state levels.
Elumelu expressed appreciation to Governor Oborevwori for the confidence reposed in those elected to represent their various constituencies, describing the governor as “a good product” deserving the support of all Deltans.
“We are happy and grateful to the governor. He is a man we are proud of, and we are ready to tell the world that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is a good product,” he said.
The former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives cautioned against anti-party activities, and spoke on the need for political appointees, elected officials and council chairmen to remain loyal to the APC.
According to him, it was unacceptable for individuals benefiting from government appointments to work against the party’s candidates during elections.
Elumelu also urged the state leadership of the party to convene a meeting of all government appointees and elected officials to reinforce the need for loyalty, discipline and collective responsibility.
He further appealed to aspirants and party supporters to embrace reconciliation, noting that while not everyone could emerge as the party’s candidate, every member had a responsibility to work for the collective success of the APC.
Earlier, the National President of APC Delta Mandate, Hon. Isaac Anwuzia, charged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and consolidate support for all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He described APC Delta Mandate as a formidable political platform committed to advancing the fortunes of the APC in Delta State, urging members to remain united and work tirelessly for the re-election of President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori and the electoral success of all APC candidates.
According to Anwuzia, loyalty to Governor Oborevwori must translate into total commitment to the party’s victory.
“Our message is one party, one mobilisation and one objective, which is to deliver the APC across Delta State,” he declared, adding that electoral victories for the party would create greater opportunities for appointments, empowerment and political advancement for loyal party members.
In his remarks, the Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Areyenka, commended members of APC Delta Mandate for remaining steadfast in promoting the achievements of the Tinubu-led Federal Government and the Oborevwori administration.
He urged them to sustain the momentum and continue working for the victory of all APC candidates in future elections.
Other speakers, including Chief Lawrence Osiegbu, Chief Patrick Ukah, Hon. Solomon Funkekeme and Chief (Mrs.) Rosaline Amioku, also applauded the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, while calling for sustained grassroots mobilisation, greater party cohesion and increased inclusion of youths in the activities and leadership of the APC.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of APC Delta Mandate to strengthening the party’s structures across the state and mobilising support for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori and all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
