Former Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government, Delta State, Hon. Louis Ogugua Ndukwe, has been appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a member of the Board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), in a fresh round of appointments into key Federal Government agencies and commissions.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was announced on Monday, July 20, 2026, in a State House Press Release signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
Ndukwe, a respected administrator and grassroots politician from Delta State, is among the six board members appointed to serve alongside the newly appointed Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu.
Other members of the Commission’s board are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
The Fiscal Responsibility Commission is a statutory agency established to promote prudent management of the nation’s resources, ensure fiscal transparency and accountability, and monitor compliance with the provisions of the Fiscal Responsibility Act by government institutions.
President Tinubu’s latest appointments also covered 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across critical sectors.
Among the notable appointments, former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, was named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), while Major General Junaid Bindawa was appointed Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.
Also appointed were Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET), Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, and Engineer Julius Oloro as Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM).
In addition, President Tinubu approved the appointment of Shuni Muhammad Dahiru as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, while Gisaor Vincent Iorja was named Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority.
The Presidency said all the appointments take immediate effect.
Hon. Ndukwe’s appointment has been widely viewed as a recognition of his wealth of administrative experience and contributions to public service, having previously served as Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government and remained actively involved in governance and national development initiatives.
His inclusion on the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission is expected to further strengthen the Commission’s mandate of promoting fiscal discipline, accountability and transparency in the management of Nigeria’s public finances.
